My fault the milk is gone? Its not my fault that the only thing to eat in that house is cereal... Ju thought, as she crossed the street, brown eyes facing ahead. It was a sunny day... though slightly chilly at the sametime - not very warm, even though it was a warm month to begin with. Probably just one of those days when the weather is so confused that it just flip-flops and does the exact opposite of the designation for the month. Ju wore a pair of combat-like boots, up to her knees, and a pair of knee-high socks, that only showed just an inch or so over the top of the boot. She wore a faded blue skirt, that was fairly short, but not short like most of the fancy girls walked around in - 'with their butts falling out', as some of the teachers would say. She wore a maroon hoodie over the top... it was a bit ragged-looking, but looked well-off just the same. Her hair was pulled into two loose pigtails on either side of her head, that drooped like dog ears. Many looked at her oddly, for one... her hair was so long that it nearly reached her knees. And two; she seemed to walk with her head down and looked up only to make a bit of a sorrowful appearance. Well, not to mention number three; a panda bear back-pack on her back. Cars and people were everywhere, as Ju silently noted, as she crossed the next street, heading for the store. Her Father refused to allow her to go to the nearest store only a few blocks away, because he insisted that they had once "hindered" with the meat he bought. So, Ju had to walk the nine blocks over to the Fourth, then six blocks sideways and over to the store... a long way from home, mind to say. And Ju had always been tired by the time she had to walk back. "That will be $3." Ju pulled out her wallet from the panda bear back-pack, as she stood at the counter, hand on the gallon of milk, the other more-or-less pulling money from the wallet. She paid quickly, and headed out the door, looking around with an almost dazed expression, before - FWACK. There was a loud cracking noise and then milk burst into the air, trickling down the sidewalk. Stupid, stupid Ju - just ran into a light post. She stood there for a moment, even more dazed, before grabbing her cheek and bending over for a moment, rubbing the bruised area, before looking down at the gallon of milk lain open and leaking on the sidewalk... Ju was quite aware of the disgusted and "pitiful" stares going toward her. "Jeez..." she muttered, "I only have twenty-five cents left..."[/ul]

Davin walked tiredly down the street to the local grocery store, looking for something to use in the creation of the nights' dinner. She heard the uncomfortable sound of someone's cheek hitting a light post, and she looked over to see what had happened. She moved easily to the girl's side, and picked up the milk container, and looked around at the people staring at her. "Go on, its rude to stare, point, or laugh." She spat rudely at the crowd around the girl.
"Are you alright?" Davin asked the younger girl quietly, taking a look at her cheek. "ouch....that's going to bruise pretty badly..." she mused, mumbling to herself. "Is there anything I can help you with? We can go in and get a new carton...if you want." She offered, then, realizing she was talking too much, she became quiet.
Davin had never really been one to talk to many people, but when she saw someone that needed help, she was like a magnet.
"Oh, by the way. I'm Davin. Davin-Snædís Brynhilduar." she smiled faintly.

Ju looked over blankly, slightly startled that anyone had popped up to help - she wasn't really used to that kind of stuff... people usually didn't do that in this town. There had once been a television show that ran a project on seeing how people reacted to seeing someone sprawled out on the ground on a sidewalk, and how long it took for anyone to ask if they were okay. For Los Angeles, it took nearly a whole day. Sad, hey? "Are you alright?" Ju nodded, staring blankly at the older girl, dull big brown eyes nearly unblinking. "ouch....that's going to bruise pretty badly..." Yet again, Ju raised her hand to her cheek, rubbing it slightly, before she pressed one it to be sure of the bruise - a flinch was all it took to be certain it was, indeed, bruised. "Is there anything I can help you with? We can go in and get a new carton...if you want." "I..." Ju started, before her eyes suddenly flew down to stare at the concrete, as if it was some sin to keep looking at the girl, "I don't have anymore money..." she replied, staring at her own feet now. How mad is Daddy going to be? He'll beat me again... probably, she thought, closing her eyes for a moment, then opening them back up, to take a half-glance at the girl again. "Oh, by the way. I'm Davin. Davin-Snædís Brynhilduar." "Oh..." Ju suddenly, more-or-less, mouthed; Brynhildaur. Seemed a familiar name. "Oh. I-i'm Ju. July Kiklatami... ma'am." She looked at the empty milk carton in the girl's hand for a moment, before; "I guess I'll just have to take that one home..." she said, averting her eyes to the ground again, "I'll have to show Daddy what I did." She chewed on her lip wearily - imagining what the punishment will be for this. It was usually just a hit or something... she already had a bruised cheek though - that would hurt really bad.... wouldn't it. Jeez... she thought, shaking her head to herself, even though she looked odd, This is troublesome. I'm such an idiot.[/ul]

"I guess I'll just have to take that one home.......I'll have to show Daddy what I did."
Davin mulled this over for a moment, then replied softly. "Come with me, okay?" her voice was gentle as she motioned for the girl to follow, and walked into the grocery store, picking up other bits, then grabbing a milk carton, headed for the checkout. She checked to make sure the other girl was following her. Her deep eyes showed sympathy - and friendships.
She frowned. "You don't need to call me 'ma'am' Just call me Davin." She smiled at Ju gently. "I'm happy to help to you...its what I like to do. Unlike...most of my family..."
"...Kikelatami... "
"What's your ghost?" She asked, as she found realization in the girl's last name. She smiled a little bit. "I know your family very well...nice people, too. Well....,most of them." she added softly. She frowned a little bit, and looked down at Ju. "Are you sure you're okay? That bruise looks really bad..." Davin said carefully, handing her the new milk carton.

"Eh..? Ju looked up for a moment, but quickly nodded her head, following the person, her head lowered slightly, still. She followed the lady into the grocery store again, and saw her grab a few tihngs, before grabbing a milk carton. Was that milk carton for Ju or the lady? Ju was unsure for a moment, as she followed her toward the checkout. "You don't need to call me 'ma'am' Just call me Davin." "I'm happy to help to you...its what I like to do. Unlike...most of my family..." "Sorry..." she replied to the first part, before looking up a little at her for a moment, "... eh?" She looked at the lady for a moment - why would her family not like to help people? Well... Ju didn't usually help people either. It was too troublesome... so she had always considered it a troublesome thing to do, even though she sometimes helped. It was just that - why should she help others? Really, there was no point, right? "What's your ghost?" "EH?" Ju's head shot up, staring at the lady for a moment - ghost? Eh? What... how... "Oh... Brynhilduar..." I remember now... thats the other family. Not my fault if I can't remember... she thought, looking back down, slowly, I don't even live in the estate or anything, so... I guess its reasonable why I don't remember that information. Ah... did she ask me a question?"Um... Phasma Phasmatis Ater Atra Atrum..." she muttered, more to herself then anyone, but then said out loud, still quiet, though; "Atrum. Ghost of Darkness..." Wah... I hate saying that out loud... she thought, meekly, looking more and more at her feet then anything else. "I know your family very well...nice people, too. Well...most of them." "I suppose..." she muttered, before she looked back up at the lady. "Are you sure you're okay? That bruise looks really bad..." "Its fine... I'm fine," she said, rather quickly, eyeing the lady a little with her dead-like eyes, the milky brown kind of spiraling in its own fashion, "Its nothing compared... to the usual. If Daddy didn't get the milk or something-or-other, he'd want to make it worse. Which he would - he isn't afraid to do anything when he gets mad... ah. Not like that matters. Sorry..." she said, quickly - trying to make it as if everything said had been casual or that she hadn't said anything at all. [/ul]

"Its nothing compared... to the usual. If Daddy didn't get the milk or something-or-other, he'd want to make it worse. Which he would - he isn't afraid to do anything when he gets mad... ah. Not like that matters. Sorry
Davin frowned lightly at this. "Well...I hope you're alright when you get home." Davin made sure that the milk carton was in a plastic bag before handing it over to Ju. "I know I'll see you around sometimes. If you need anything, don't hesitate to stop by the estates. Just ask for Davin ; they'll lead you to me." The nekotoma nodded faintly, and turned, grabbing her own things, before walking out into the bustling streets of Los Angeles, heading towards the Bryhilduar estates. I do hope she'll be alright... Davin thought as she made her way into her own wing of the estate, saying hello to a few of the members as she walked by. She set the supplies on the counter, and put them in their proper places.
She frowned a little bit, then, grabbing her ipod, set out for a run through the city. Her legs were long and athletic, her strides were graceful, like that of a cat. Her curse enabled her to run quite fast and for a long time without tiring easily. She turned up the volume on her ipod, and continued running, until she got to the store again. Having completely forgotten to bring water with her, she stepped in, grabbing and paying for three bottles of water, setting out again. I hope i see her again... she mused as she ran.
[eh. crap post. didn't know what else to put T_T gomen!!]
