already!” How did she always seem to land herself in these situations? Evangeline looked at the group of girls looking at her impatiently; two tapping their feet impatiently. It was lunchtime in the middle school and the library was oddly empty, even devoid of the stragglers who wanted to get their homework done the period before it was due. Thus, Evangeline had found herself in the quiet room, looking through the depressingly sparse cookery section in hopes of finding a dessert recipe she’d read about the other day. Now where was that book…? Then the trouble came. Three girls from her own class had entered, giggling and whispering in an almost snide manner before they came upon the young girl riffling through a few cake magazines. It had been innocent chatter at first; simple greetings and pleasantries… Eva supposed that should have set off the warning bells, but she was too wrapped up in the fact that they were actually talking to her. Then they were in front of the store cupboard, the three explaining that they needed paper for the copy machine. Problem was, students were only allowed in there with staff permission and the librarian wasn’t there. Pus, they were already on detention. But Evangeline was a trusted, well-behaved student; she could go in there and get it for them. Still, the pink haired girl was dubious, “But, won’t they—“ she began, before one of the girls cut her off harshly. “Damnit, we already told you! We’ll warn you if anyone’s coming. Besides, you’re only getting paper,” she then put on a strained smile, “Plus, don’t you want to hang out with us?” She bit her lip in mild trepidation; besides the niggling of her common sense telling her they’d leave in a heartbeat, she wanted to go out with the group. At least have some idea of what it might be like to be normal… Turning to the surprisingly unlocked, cupboard, the Kyuubi opened the door and watched as the bleached yellow light flickered on thanks to being connected to the hinge via an automatic mechanism. Right… paper… at the very end. Following the long shelves down to the end of the narrow room, she reached up to the shelf above her head, feeling around with slight blindness for the bulky pack. Then there was a loud slam before everything fell into pitch-blackness. Forgetting her task immediately, the young girl’s head snapped in the direction she remembered the door being in. There was cattish laughing on the other side, and she could have hit herself. So stupid. So, so stupid! Evangeline scolded herself harshly, feeling around blindly and using the long shelf to guide her back to the doorway. It felt like ages, though it was only probably a minute or two. The cursed Brynhilduar had mild claustrophobia; she’d found herself locked in the cupboard under the stairs once as a child and had automatically found herself avoiding cramped spaces ever since. Ignoring the amounting pressure of the darkness around her for now, Eva almost went weak with relief when her fingertips brushed against the cool metal of the doorknob. Turning the knob, she had to bite her lip hard to stop herself from crying out: it was locked. They’d lied to her, if it wasn’t obvious by now. They’d had permission, and had been given the key along with it… that also explained why the door had been open in the first place. A lump formed in her throat as the oppressive space seemed to close in around her, suffocating her with it’s tightness. Swallowing thickly, she rapped gently on the wooden door, voice soft even as she tried to put some force behind it, “I-is any… anyone there? Let me out… please!” It still sounded choked and hoarse as she repeated herself, sniffing. Evangeline felt sick, stomach churning even though she hadn’t eaten yet. Such a fool… people don’t like us. Hate us, even, Why would they be nice to me? Idiot. Idiot! She chided herself mentally, knocking on the wood again and jiggling the handle for good measure. “Please let me out!” So pitiful.[/ul]

Ju lifted her head from the library desk she had her head laying on, staring over at the party...of how many, she didn't really care to think, her fingers clasping the fringed ends of a dusty foriegn book - all the characters in Chinese or some other Asian language, considering she was trying to teach herself Chinese for the day she may visit there to find her Mother's true family. Kind of sad, really, when a grown women refused to look for her true family - just because she was afraid they would meet her daughter, aye? “Damnit, we already told you! We’ll warn you if anyone’s coming. Besides, you’re only getting paper,”Ugh... annoying... can't people even be quiet in a library? Ju thought, with a grown, as she pushed herself up from the table, silently putting the book back on the stack she had pulled from her cubby - a place where someone could put their books, so they didn't have to go and find them all over again. Ju was restricted to only checking out one book at a time now, due to her last troubel with actually turning it in... six weeks late. Ju stepped over toward the shelves closest to the people - it sounded like they were urging someone to do something, and since a certain name had hit a memorable link in Ju's head, moving toward the action was only plausible. Brynhilduar... thats the other family, if I can remember correctly.“Plus, don’t you want to hang out with us?”If she enters... Ju's thoughts were cut off by the click of the door, and she rolled her eyes, leaning her head against the books, Is this person stupid? Of course somethings going to happen. Duh. Real friends don't so that.... right? I think I'm right here. Ju waited, flicking through the book covers, eyes staring with a misted, emotionless stare. She heard the door click again, and laughter... the girls who had been talking to the other walked behind her, making her look up at them - they gave her odd expressions, too. Well, that wasn't anything uncommon... even kids from the lower classes knew about the girl in the eigth grade, the one who had no expressions. “I-is any… anyone there? Let me out… please!”Such a fool... Ju thought, with a sigh, as she moved away from the book case, stepping toward the door, her brown, emotionless eyes staring at the door, as she tilted her head sideways - listening to the doorknob rattle. Her long, black hair fell nearly to the ground as she did so, it was tied up into two loose pigtails as always, and she wore something she felt like wearing that day... not like this school was a private school or anythiing. No uniforms. Now that was a pretty good deal for Ju - considering she wouldn't have taken much to it dismorning. She just wore a brown skirt, knee-high white socks, a pair of sneakers, and a maroon sweater, of course, with a tank top underneith. “Please let me out!”Ju lifted her hand, and put it into her pocket, pulling out something that appeared to be... keys. Dismorning, Ju had been sent down to get paper for her home room teacher... Lucky... she thought. She hadn't gotten the chance to give them back yet, and still had one of the sets. Because, of course, no teacher just has one set of keys, or even two - surely they'd have at least three sets.. always. That was for safety measures, of course. She unlocked the door, pulling it open and peering inside, as the lights flickered on; "You must be really stupid to have listened to those girls. You're lucky I had been given a set of keys for today, too."[/ul]

Those were the first words she heard from her ‘saviour’; and as true as they were Evangeline still felt her cheeks flush. Blinking slightly to clear the spots in her vision, the Kyuubi too a look at the feminine voice in the doorway. The girl appeared to be a little older than herself, ebony hair falling to a surprising length and oddly bleak eyes with little distinguishable expression. At the questioning look, Eva raised her hands to rub awkwardly at her cheek. She then realised, with a slight jolt, tha the skin was damp. Fantastic: as if she wasn’t degraded enough, she had been crying. Pulling up the sleeves of her jacket over her hands, the younger girl attempted to wipe away the traces of her tears. Her attire wasn’t that out stated, though subtle wasn’t the word for it either. The hooded jacket she wore was deep red, lined with white and embellished with a white circle on the back. Underneath this was a white vest shirt with an opposing red circle on the front coupled with a beige knee length skirt. On her feet was a pair of sneakers over a pair of black knee high socks. Her short, oh so pink hair was held back with a black hair band, gently brushing her shoulders as per usual. Sniffing slightly, she gave a few last rubs to her still red cheeks and shifted her jade green gaze back to the other girl. “I… um… I’m sorry…” She mumbled uncertainly, shuffling awkwardly and slightly afraid to approach the older girl. Maybe it was the utter lack of emotion that was slightly intimidating or the fact that she’d proved herself a gullible idiot that was keeping her from speaking, or maybe a mix of both. Her cheeks burned again. Taking a deep breath, Eva managed to mumble, “I’m sorry… again… I’m really stupid… and… I’m in trouble… right?” It would be amazing if the other girl even caught half of what she had said; most of it was spoken into her sleeves. Sniffing lightly, she finally removed her hands and took a few tentative steps forward before shuffling awkwardly from foot to foot. Eva honestly wasn’t sure what to do with herself; she’d been proved a gullible idiot to a complete stranger, tricked into having a near panic attack and was probably going to end up with a detention to boot. Yes, today was proving a most joyous occasion. She couldn’t even seem to meet her gaze, preferring to keep emerald eyes rooted on the semi-polished and peeling linoleum flooring of the narrow stationary closet. Then again, things could have been a lot worse. The older girl couldn’t have been there and she’d have been stuck inside for longer… the mere thought of that scenario was enough to make her shudder. This was definitely a more appealing option, no matter how humiliating. “I’m sorry…” She repeated, lowering her head shamefully.[/ul] [Sorry for the late and suckish post... internet was out. ._.;]
